The Old Pogue Distillery is a historic, family-owned artisan operation located on the same grounds as the original H.E. Pogue Distillery founded in 1876 in Maysville, Kentucky, known as the ‘birthplace of bourbon.’ The distillery sits on the southern bluff of the Ohio River Valley with views of the Simon Kenton Bridge, featuring the historic Pogue family 1845 home and a modern Distilled Spirits Plant (DSP-KY-3). Fifth and sixth generation Pogues, Paul and John Pogue, proudly produce small batch Rye and Bourbon whisky using the same ingredient combinations and ancestral methods that have served the family since 1876. The venue includes a tasting room, grain holding, and barrel storage, with two locations: the historic distillery grounds at 705 Germantown Road (by appointment) and The Old Pogue Experience tasting room at 102 West 2nd Street in downtown Maysville.
