The first distillery in Brazos County, Rio Brazos Distillery was founded in 2013 by the Barkman family. They craft whiskey from small batches of Texas-grown sweet corn, red winter wheat, and two-row malted barley, distilled in a pot still using a uniquely American Tennessee narrow hearts cut double-distillation process involving four all-day cooks, four stripping runs, and a final 13-hour spirit run.
