About

Milam & Greene is a distillery located in Blanco, Texas, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Founded by Marsha Milam alongside renowned whiskey expert Heather Greene, the distillery is led by Master Distiller Marlene Holmes, the 99th inductee to the Whisky Hall of Fame. Milam & Greene fuses deep bourbon traditions with bold modern innovation, distilling in both Blanco, Texas and Bardstown, Kentucky. They age their spirits under Texas skies and blend with precision to create whiskeys with character, complexity, and unmistakable depth. Their unique approach involves bringing select barrels from Kentucky down to Texas for additional aging, a process they call ‘Texification’ that helps develop greater richness, roundness, and drinkability through Texas’ intense climate.

Spirits

Bottled in Bond Bourbon

Created in response to customer demand, this whiskey meets the strict Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 requirements: produced in a single distilling season by a single distillery, matured in a U.S. bonded warehouse for a minimum of four years, and bottled at exactly 50% ABV. Distilled in Fall 2019 and bottled in Spring 2024. Grain-forward with candy corn, honey, chocolate malt, and a smooth finish with spearmint and cinnamon.

Liberty American Whiskey

A blend of six hand-selected straight American whiskeys distilled two ways across two states: three barrels of Texas whiskey made in a 300-gallon pot still for body and grain, married with three barrels of Kentucky whiskey made in a continuous column still for sweetness and spice, all aged in once-used Texas bourbon casks. Released for America’s 250th year, it carries 70% corn mash bill and is aged at least five years and nine months. 120.8 Proof.

Port Cask Finished Rye

A straight rye whiskey that begins as Indiana rye, then is batched in Texas and finished in old Port Wine Casks where the Texan sun influences the flavor development. The team tastes the whiskey regularly until optimal flavors are achieved before batching, testing, and proofing. Finished with rich, velvety character showing cinnamon, chocolate, and dark fruits. 94 Proof.

Provisions Bourbon

A versatile, approachable bourbon made for everyday moments, blending bold Texas pot-still bourbon with classic Kentucky straight bourbon and finished under the Texas sun. Bottled at 80 proof with a warm, inviting character featuring honey-drizzled oak, roasted peanuts, orange zest, and baking spices. Designed to be smooth, adaptable, and slightly sweeter for whiskey drinkers of all kinds.

Single Barrel Bourbon

Each barrel is individually evaluated, bottled, and hand-selected from Milam & Greene’s growing sourced collection. The team only bottles whiskies that demonstrate elegance and personality, with no two casks alike. Each barrel yields approximately 280 bottles with cask number, proof, and ABV hand-written on each label. The current lot comes from Tennessee and has won numerous double gold medals. 94 Proof.

Triple Cask Bourbon

An award-winning blend of three hand-selected straight bourbon whiskies from three states: premium Texas bourbon distilled in a 300-gallon pot still for spice, Kentucky whiskey from a continuous column still for vanillas and fruits, and sourced vintage Tennessee whiskey for structure and tannins. Aged in barrels across three states before final aging in Texas. 94 Proof.

Unabridged Bourbon Volumes

A literary-themed blend at cask-strength and non-chill filtered, paying homage to Master Blender Heather Greene’s book ‘Whiskey Distilled: A Populist Guide to the Water of Life.’ Volume 4 represents the smallest yield in the series with only eight carefully chosen casks. Blends matured Kentucky and Tennessee bourbons from partner distilleries with their own Kentucky and Texas-distillate, featuring lush malted rye texture and lively spice. 118.4 Proof (59.2% ABV).

Very Small Batch Bourbon

Milam & Greene’s most hands-on and daring whiskey, finished with charred French oak staves and released only twice per year. At 108 proof, it’s designed to hit a ‘sweet spot’ without domineering wood compounds, harnessing esters that deliver fruits, florals, and herbs from mashing and fermentation. Features jammy dark fruits and French toast notes with slight variations between batches. Released in Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024.
