Kuleana Rum Works was founded in 2013 on Hawaiʻi Island in the Kohala region, where they grow approximately 30 varieties of Hawaiian heirloom sugarcane (kō) tracing back to original cane brought by Polynesian Wayfinders around 1,000 years ago. They distill fresh sugarcane juice into award-winning, additive-free rum with no added sweeteners, flavoring, or coloring, and built their program with whiskey icon David Perkins and master Rhum Agricole maker Gilles Cognier.
