About
Black Band Distillery is Peoria, Illinois’ first craft distillery, founded by Chris Ober and located in historic warehouse buildings at 1000 SW Adams St in the heart of Peoria. The distillery produces high-quality spirits from locally sourced organic grains and naturally filtered Sankoty Aquifer water, paying tribute to Peoria’s heritage as the “Whiskey Capital of the World” in the late 1800s when it produced more spirits than any other city. Opened in 2021 after production began in 2020, Black Band honors the city’s lost distilling tradition through meticulous craft production and offers tours, a tasting room called The Bar at Black Band, and a full selection of award-winning bourbons, whiskeys, ryes, and wheat whiskeys.
