Founded in 1866, the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee is the first registered distillery in the United States. The distillery is known for its signature charcoal mellowing process, where whiskey is filtered drop by drop through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal before being aged in handcrafted barrels. Located next to the mineral-rich Cave Spring Hollow, the distillery has been crafting Tennessee whiskey for over 150 years under the leadership of successive Master Distillers.
